Kiran is a registered dietitian and holds a Masters in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph – Canada's food university. Her research focused on the use of "nudging" techniques to alter post-secondary school food service environments to promote nutrient-dense food choices for students in Canada. Kiran is owner of Food Venture Program – a food and beverage business incubator program where she has integrated sustainability into the core of the educational programming. She is also a consultant for food and beverage companies through her food industry consulting agency, Edo Vivo. Her most recent work with a local NGO involved developing a tomato sauce made from "upcycled" produce to reduce food insecurity and add to the local circular food economy.
Kiran is an advocate for the local food movement and enjoys collaborating with organizations and communities to discuss ideas and solutions for encouraging local food movements across the globe.
